The customer’s garage door opener seemed to be working just fine, and the springs were intact, but her garage door wouldn’t budge.
Our Solution:
We came ready to run the full gauntlet of tests on Mrs. Gloebber’s garage door. It didn’t take us nearly that much to find the problem, though. One of her lift cables was snapped all the way through, and the door was only getting half of what it needed to move. We disconnected and unspooled both cables, since if one breaks it usually means the other is badly weakened as well. We put in a new pair, over freshly cleaned and oiled spools, and put the garage door through its paces.
